Well... this is intriguing. Carfax is good, price seems darn good, and the dealership wants to sell. What red flag am I missing here?

KBB has it at nearly 18k, and that's why I'm a little surprised at the price.

That's a decent price for that mileage and AP1. 2000 and 2001 have the plastic rear window (instead of glass) and carpeted tunnel surround, and a few other trim differences. There were a few mechanical updates made in 2002+. But if clean and no damage this sounds reasonable, especially if you can get it closer to $15k.

It's missing the glass window in the back, as it's an early one, but other than that, that looks great

Buy buy buy. Then invest in hard top.

These things keep appreciating as good ones become harder and harder to find. It probably would be a good buy with some haggling involved. Just thoroughly inspect the top and rear plastic window. Finding a hardtop could be worth it in the long run unless you want to switch to an AP2 glass window top. That will probably be the nicest AP1 you'll find to tell you the truth so if you are interested snap it up.

Jesus. I had one in the UK and I struggled to get £4500/$7600 for my 2002 when I sold it two years ago. It was higher miles but great condition.
Why are they holding their value so well in the US?

Seems like a good price, but not ridiculously low.
